A competitive tennis player and fitness mad during my childhood and teenage years, I decided to put my true passions on hold and concentrate on academic studies where I graduated from The University of Manchester in 1999 in American History & Society.
After university, I began a career working as a researcher for a television production company and also had a stint in sales which was cut short after a nasty accident in 2001. This resulted in me being unable to walk without crutches for a few months. It was during this period that I realised that my calling was to enter the fitness world and as soon as I recovered, I gained a Diploma in Exercise & Fitness with the YMCA.
Working as a personal trainer and teaching a number of group classes for young and old, pre & post natal such as aerobics, fit-ball and tone & stretch for LA Fitness Health Clubs, my interests began to focus more towards holistic mind-body forms of exercise and rehabilitation. I first started to practice the Pilates Method in 2002 with a variety of experienced teachers and two years later, I was inspired to take my new love for Pilates a step further by completing the eighteen-month intensive teacher training comprehensive programme for matwork and equipment with PILATESfoundation UK Limited at the renowned South Kensington studio of Kelly Goulon. During this period, I decided to become a freelance Pilates teacher and personal trainer and worked in and around North & West London for a variety of gyms, Pilates studios and people's homes. I quickly established a loyal and dedicated client base which I gave up in September 2006 to pursue a dream with my husband to live, love and work in the beautiful island of Mallorca.
I now teach Pilates for wellness centres, gyms and private homes in Palma and the South West of Mallorca, Spain. I'm also planning Pilates retreats in Mallorca, Spain for 2007. I'm a full member of the PILATESfoundation UK Limited.
